Ben holds a BA in English from Oberlin College, an MA in Dance Education from New York University, and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, where he studied the nexus of visual art, dance, and theater. His choreography has been presented at venues throughout the U.S. and Europe, including the main stages of Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Dance Theater Workshop, the Joyce Theater, Celebrate Brooklyn, Central Park SummerStage, and Jacob’s Pillow. He has received grants from the National Dance Project (both creation and touring support), the Jerome Foundation, the New York Foundation for the Arts, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the National Performance Network, the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation, and the National Endowment for the Arts (six consecutive annual creation grants), among others.
